On Thursday 4th June 2026, Haberfield Public School will proudly celebrate Superhero Day. Students are invited to wear a superhero costume, a cape, or simply the colour yellow to show their support.
A gold coin donation would be greatly appreciated to help raise awareness and much-needed funds for DIPG research.
Maddy Suy, lovingly known as “Mighty Maddy,” was a former student of Haberfield Public School who sadly passed away in May 2024 after her brave battle with DIPG. In her honour, the school created Superhero Day to celebrate her inspiring film, Mighty Maddy’s Mission to the Future, which portrayed Maddy as a superhero courageously fighting DIPG while holding onto hope for a cure.
However, according to Maddy & Co, the word superhero has an even deeper meaning. Every child shows courage, strength, kindness, and resilience when facing life’s challenges — whether those challenges are big or small, visible or invisible. You do not need a cape to be a superhero. Every student has the power to make a difference through compassion, bravery, and supporting others.

All funds raised for Maddy’s Wish will be donated to Run DIPG to support vital research in the search for a cure.
